For more than a century, Family Service has been helping individuals and families throughout Yellowstone County by providing food assistance, rent assistance, financial education, and other essential community resources. As their services expanded, they needed a website and brand experience that made it easier for people to quickly find the help they needed while simplifying day-to-day management for staff.

Working alongside Family Service, we refined their visual identity, modernized their website, and reimagined how visitors navigate critical services. The result is a digital experience designed around clarity, accessibility, and compassion, helping people spend less time searching for information and more time receiving the assistance they need.

Goal

Create a modern, welcoming digital experience that reflects Family Service's mission while making it easier for individuals and families to access assistance, schedule appointments, and connect with available resources.

Hurdles

Many visitors arrive at the Family Service website during stressful or uncertain moments. Whether they're seeking food assistance, rental support, or other community programs, they need information that is easy to understand and simple to act upon. At the same time, staff needed a website that was easier to update and manage as programs and services evolved.

Approach

We began by refining Family Service's existing brand identity to create a cleaner, more consistent visual system while preserving the organization's familiar and trusted personality. From there, we redesigned the website around the needs of the people using it—simplifying navigation, clarifying service pathways, and reducing the number of steps required to find important information.

One of the most impactful additions was an online scheduling system that allows families to reserve appointments for food pantry visits and rental assistance before arriving. By moving scheduling online, Family Service can better manage demand, reduce wait times, and create a more organized experience for both visitors and staff.

Behind the scenes, we also streamlined the website's content structure and administration, making it easier for staff to update programs, resources, and announcements without requiring technical expertise.

Result

Family Service now has a modern digital presence that reflects the compassion and professionalism of the organization while providing a significantly improved experience for the community it serves. Visitors can quickly locate services, schedule appointments online, and access important information with confidence. Staff benefit from a website that's easier to manage, allowing them to spend less time maintaining content and more time serving families throughout the community.
